In 2000, BCM International recognised the need for an international, discipleship-based, ready-to-use children’s ministry training programme.
Over the next five years, 60+ children’s ministry leaders representing more than 20 nations participated in developing and field-testing the ISMT programme to ensure that it would be globally relevant.
In 2005, ISMT was published in English. We could not have anticipated the worldwide explosion that followed.

- ISMT is available in 10 languages with many more in progress.
- ISMT has been used to equip thousands of new teachers in over 40 countries on 5 continents
- Hundreds of new children’s ministry trainers have been prepared at one of our Train the Trainer workshops.
- Over 30 certified ISMT master trainers mentor new trainers and oversee ISMT ministry in their regions.
